Over 65,000 files ending with .szfcpf
« on: November 11, 2012, 03:42:05 AM »
I have over 65,000 files with the extension .szfcpf most of the ones that are still on my computer are in different Windows directories, I did have about 40,000 more of these files but I deleted them. I have a multi boot computer with 9 copies of Windows and 7 hard drives and a couple of terabytes of files spread out on the hard drives. All the files were created on the same day.

I am looking for help in getting rid of the last 65,000 of these .szfcpf files. The only way I have been able to delete them is by taking ownership of about 15 files at a time and then deleting them. This is VERY slow.

I noticed that what this Virus? did was..... go into thousands of directories and create a copy of the file in that directory, and rename the copy with random numbers and letters like  ( 00d723fe1f87f10af1cb3a510a7b9c29.szfcpf ) with the file extention of szfcpf

Since most of these files are copies of Windows files, Windows sees them as valid Windows files with valid Windows certificates. (from what I can tell)

I have run......
Avast Internet Security http://www.avast.com/internet-security
MalwareBytes
and Kaspersky TDSSKiller

None of the above programs have found any problems on my computer.

Any help would be great!

hey and welcome to the forum. i suggest you follow this guide. and a malware expert will guide you from there. I'm no expert but it sounds like it could be a zero acces trojan you have on your computer.
