In order to check my configuration i downloaded eicar.zip.
Avast responded ok. but i was not ableto delate or move the file untill the file was extracted.
Is this the normal way to treat a zip-file ???
CanĀ“t the extraktionprocess ever trigger  any virus ???

As you se I am a beginner (and I love my avast)

All files from the archives must be extracted (to the our temp folder) before their scanning. When we process whole archive, we delete all extracted files. If you terminate scanning and some infected files were extracted to the temp folder, all files should be removed before next avast! running (can someone confirm it? ??? - i'm not really sure). If you run the extracted-infected file which is localized in so hardly accessible temp folder, yes - you can infect your computer; but I don't believe it would happend to you.

Please can you tell me what you put in the boxes for command and for parameters? I allways get the file not found error.
Peter

C:\<avast directory>\Ashquick.exe
Without any parameters.
Good luck.  ;)
