Microsoft Outlook does not send messages

Hi there
Two days ago I downloaded new version of Avast Free and from that moment My Microsoft Outlook is not able to send new messages. So, while I can receive messages, I cannot send. I tried to unistall the program (NO CHANGE), then I installed again (NO CHANGE). I controlled Windows Firewall and seems to be OK.  For your info, after the unistall I went to Windows System 32 Regedit to clear all concerning Avast. I don't know what to do now. I remember that the new version of Avast Free said "Better controls for mailing", but I did not suppose in this way....  Please note that, when I try to send a new message, status pop window opens and it  seems all OK, but e mail does not disappear from that window....   What do you suggest, friends ?

TKS but it seems to me I am not authorized to readf your link. So I don't know what to do and nobody gives me an answer !!...
In the meantime, no email sent by me...   Maybe I must charge Microsoft Outlook again ... (... I hope not to do it !...). BYE
