Still facing problems with Avast
« on: November 23, 2012, 04:03:44 PM »
I'm still facing problems with Avast Internet Security.7.0.1474

I've had help in here before and I ran a oldtimer diagnose of my system and everything was fine.

I also have no other firewall/anti virus running other than Avast itself.

I've been running speedtests several times and every time Avast is on, its hogging my internet download and upload speed which is really annoying.

I have also called my ISP several times and everything runs fine on their end.

I'm on a windows 7 ultimate 64bit and I am still facing problems regardless of the help I've gotten and the things I've done.

have you tried to download a big file and take the time....
then disable avast, download again and take the time......
what is the difference?

try a big file like xp service pack3

The difference is -10mbit download speed. My DL is 50d and 5p, its 40d and 2-3p when Avast is running.

it makes searching on the internet slower, takes longer to load pages and it annoys me.

Sure some might say that 40 is still alot but I don't care. I didn't pay for Avast to get a 40mbit d speed when I've paid for my internet to have 50d speed.

If the problem can't be solved I would ask if theres a refund option. Otherwise if not, I'm done buying Avast products in the future and I have learned my lesson.

i had the same problem with Malwarebytes protection module...

but when downloading a file an time it, there was almost no time difference....
it was mbam protection module fooling the speedtest so it did not show correct result...
also the test will be different on wireless vs wired
