avast freee and google installer
« on: February 14, 2013, 08:14:39 PM »
i have avast internet security on my windows 7 computer and think its great.
i just installed avast free antivirus on an older computer running windows xp.
when it installed it  i was asked if i wanted to install google chrome and i clicked no.
the avast antivirus  program installed with no problem
and a prompt said that google chrome encountered a problem and did not install.
when i went to update avast antivirus online, my firewall asked me if i wanted to allow google installer to have access to the web.
i clicked no, but every few minutes the firewall would ask again to allow it.
my question is-
does avast use google installer to download and install updates to the avast antivirus program or is this google installer simply used for google chrome and ok for me to remove it?
thanx in advance.

It can be deleted as it is an option and has no affect on how avast runs  ;D
