How do I restore a file from the virus chest? I was testing in my VM and I tried to restore a file but it's still in the chest do I have to reboot first?

A copy of the file remains in the chest (a backup/safety measure), you don't want to burn all of your bridges and remove that until you know the restore has worked. From that copy in the chest you can get where that original location was/is.

So confirm that it is actually in the original location, if it is then you can manually delete the copy that remains in the chest.
