avast and bsod ?
« on: December 02, 2012, 12:52:42 PM »
hi,

I'm getting   bsods with a "page not found in a non paged area " each time I try to open/drag to the thrashbin a folder of downloaded files... I'm definitely not tech savy , but I've read  that it could be caused by the antivirus (avast  btw does not mark the folder as malicious)...can anybody help?
thanks in advance!

OK. So, why do you think it's related to avast!..??
Does it work if you disable the shields temporarily..??

as I said I've read that this kind of error may be related to the antivirus (and frankly I would hope so because I figure- perhaps wrongly- that it could be easily fixed...).

yes ,I tried disabling the shields but to no avail.

Well, most likely it's not related to avast! then.

are you sure ? is there anything running in the background that might interfere?

...do you have any suggestion on how to deal with this problem  ... I'm really at a loss here...

If you think it might be related to avast!, please upload your minidump(s): ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/

Another alternative is to zip the last 3
Upload to a file sharing site, or place in dropbox if you have it
Post the link here and I will have a look see

I think I may have solved the problem... as it was that one folder which caused on opening /dragging the bsods I finally managed somehow to delete it   .

along the process I tried uninstalling/reinstalling avast but I guess after all it wasn't the culprit  :) .

thanks again for the help.
