Question
« on: December 20, 2012, 09:33:16 PM »
When I start a scan, quick or full, the scan starts real slow, the mouse barely works (lots of cpu being used.  I can't tell what is using up CPUs, it's erratic).  After a while the speed increases and the mouse is functional and scan completes.

The system is XP Home SP3 2 meg ram on a desktop, AMD 3000+.

When I installed avast, I had the same mouse problem, but I rebooted and when I did, my desktop was gone, just the default windows blue screen (not BSOD), but the mouse worked and I reloaded my desktop and everything is fine.  Avast works fine, except for the on demand scan/mouse issue.  I only have file shield installed and default settings.  No other AVs, it's clean.

I have avast on an older P4, 1meg and no problems what so ever.

No other AVs installed.  I had MSE prior only because I couldn't get avast to work, always the mouse freeze until now with this version of avast.

Yes, MSE is uninstalled.
