Avast not working??

Could someone help me? I´m using avast 4.5 home edition, and I dont know if it is working or not. In my e-mail (outbox and inbox), the message "virus cleaner" is ok... When I check my comp with scan, ok...But the lil "a"  icon, that would be in the tool bar, next the clock, from resident shield, isnt visible. Ideas, big genius?

And so sorry, but englsih is my 4th laguage ;D

Already tried a repair of Avast?
If not, I suggest you do so.

I've got the "same" pb on one of my pc: battery icon or graphic tool icon sometimes...
I really think this is a Windoze pb.

I did what Eddy told me, but, dont work. I did a reinstall program, and nothing again. But I think the avast is ok. I havent virous in my comp, maybe it is  a "silent" program..lol. If new ideas, let me know, please.

Just to archive: to me avast is the best antivirous. Is totally ok for me ;)

Look for a user named RejZor. Click on the link in his signature and get the AEC (Avast External Control).
Try to enable the icon with that util.
