A link to the thread you obtained it from would be helpful, all information about that patch would also be within that same thread and should clearly state what the patch is supposed to fix in a certain version of avast and a certain operating system " XP, Vista, Win 7, Win8 " ???

The patch should also only be used if you have the problem the patch is supposed to fix.

The path to the executable given in isolation we aren't going to have a clue what the patch is meant to fix. Even a link to the patch page should explain what the patch conditions are.

Patches are to resolve specific conditions and if you aren't having a problem, which you don't say (?) then the patch/s shouldn't be applied.

The date the patch was released is also crucial as any subsequent program update should have that patch incorporated in the program update.

As you can hopefully see we need more information to even hazard an educated guess.

As this thread is from June, I don't think this is still relevant.

Given what I have said in my last post, this patch is effectively redundant I believe as there have been no less than 4 program updates since this patch was released.

Thx DavidR for replay i'm aware, but i only hope to find if the patch was originally intended to fix this specific problem between avast webshield and windows 7 firewall.

Well all of that information is already available to you in the link you gave to the topic and the one in that topic to the information about the patch and what it covers. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=99502.msg793862#msg793862

We are up to a point making a reasonable assumption that this patch would have been incorporated into a subsequent program update after its release.

Ah ha, never even checked the forum it was in.

But the patch should really have already been incorporated in a later program if this issue was considered important.

I don't use the windows 7 firewall but Outpost firewall pro, and that doesn't have a problem identifying what process is being redirected through the avast localhost proxy. So I can't test that issue to confirm if the patch has been applies in a subsequent program update..

Well if you are right should work, but if i select scan the traffic of well known browser it doesn't work, work for all the rules i create except  for ie (i kown why in the world i want to block ie), but this is not suppose to happen, when i check the exception, it should comply the exception.

What do you mean it doesn't work ?
By selecting 'Scan traffic of well-known browser processes only' it is going to be scanning less not more. If you have any internet connections using HTTP ports and Protocol avast would scan that no matter if it is a well known browser or not. If you select the 'Scan traffic of well-known browser processes only' any traffic that isn't from a well-known browser process, won't be redirected through the web shield proxy and that should allow the win7 firewall (if you have outbound scanning enabled) to apply any rules you have set for specific programs.

What exactly are you trying to do ?
