Transferring license to new laptop
« on: December 19, 2012, 08:36:26 AM »
I've just purchased a new laptop - Acer with Windows 8. I already have a valid license - which expires in April 2012 - on my other laptop which I no longer use.
How do I transfer the license to my new laptop? Is it possible to do this?
My license is Pro!Antivirus.
I had McAfee pre intstalled on my new laptop but I uninstalled it.

If you've a copy of your license, just use it on your new machine.
Else you can get your license resent here: http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php

first run McAfee removal tool so that all conflicting files are gone...
you find it here. http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security/

is the license you have valid for more then one computer?
if not, uninstall on old computer...

install on the new....insert the license file you got in mail from avast

Uninstall avast! from the old system and install it on new one. Apply license and you're done. You cannot use same license on 2 different systems unless if you purchased multi computer license...
