Hi, I just wanted to know if the streaming updates technology is also used during any type of scanning ? (including right click scanning).

as far as i know the streaming update is only used for updates, where they push out updates that are in quick need.....or a FP that need quick fix

You should be right, if you make a full scan and avast! checks all files throught cloud with hash is not even possible ...

I know this article looks promissing even though the systems are already used by virus lab to classify the samples.

The idea of the streaming updates is to get more urgent/important signature updates to 'your system' rather than wait for the next regular update. Once on your system (in the defs sub-folder) they are effectively a part of the full virus definitions so would be used in all scans.
