avast + a standalone behavior blocker
« on: December 28, 2012, 08:34:41 PM »
Hi,
As I have a license of Emsisoft Mamutu lying around and am an avast! user.

If I join both Mamutu and avast! do I need to disable anything in avast or simply exclude Mamutu and the same on Mamutu end?

I know you can easily run Emsisoft Anti-Malware with avast as long as you exclude both parties and EAM has Mamutu incorporated.

Thank you for the help.

Sorry I forgot to specify.
Avast Free

Currently all shields and modules of avast are enable and on default settings.

Hope this helps and appreciate any help.

Well, I've never tried these two together, but I would disable avast's behaviour shield, if you run Mamutu.

My understanding from avast is that behavior shield is tied up in someway with script shield which in turn affects the auto sandbox am I correct?

So disabling behavior shield wouldn't break anything on avast or do you recommend a custom installation of avast?

Sorry for the amount of questions asked.

Thanks

1. Almost, the ASB will work nonetheless.
2. Well, it certainly wouldn't break anything, but the SS won't work.
