Hi,
I don't usually reply to Anti-Theft posts, but I'm going to make an exception since your post is so nice
I'm just going to talk about that issue with activating GPS. I have read a lot of such questions and usually I'm not sure if users understand us correctly and we correctly understand users
There are two things we can do with GPS on certain devices. We can enabled/activate it and we can turn it on.
Enabling/activating GPS means changing the state of the GPS checkbox/slider in device Settings. If the GPS is enabled/activated, it is not turned on automatically (you don't immediately see the GPS icon in the notification bar). The GPS is turned on when an application requests the respective location and only if the checkbox is set to enabled state.
Now on certain devices (rooted or Gingerbread or lower) we can do both those things. On other devices, we can only turn on the GPS, but we can't enable it. If you know about any applications that can enable GPS on such devices, please, let us know and we will take a look at them.
