infected email from Bank of America?
« on: January 02, 2013, 07:01:04 PM »
Hi,

I'm a new user, just ran a full scan on my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.7.5, and 18 files were identified as infected. Question - could some of these be false positives? At least 2 were emails from Bank of America and Amazon. Hard to imagine those were truly infected. Also would be curious to know details of viruses involved, i.e. whether the identified infections resulted in disclosure of passwords. Please see attached screen shot, can forward the actual files.

Thanks!

If the emails are really from Amazon/Bank of America, then they will be false positives. But a much more probable scenario is, that those emails are in fact from a bad guy somewhere on the other end of the world...
