AvastUI.exe Memory Leak ?
« on: January 12, 2013, 04:21:27 AM »
Hi all,

These days, My computer often goes no response.

I think i found the problem: every time it goes no response, I find that the AvastUI.exe eats too much memory from 400MB to 800MB and then goes down.  Is anyone meet the same problem?

I don't know whetner this is normal or not.

400 - 800MB? That is obviously a sign a memory leak. I never had this before, and never saw this before :o

There is no memory leak that I know of and this sounds more like a conflict of some sort so you may have to start telling us some information about your system and what other security software you have installed.

Would you be able to create a memory dump of the process when it is at this "huge" state, compress it and upload it to our FTP?
If you are using a newer operating system, such as Windows 7, you can do it right from the context menu of the Task Manager.

Note that you might need to disable avast! self-defense first - from the Troubleshooting settings.
Thanks.
