Why don't you use:
http://www.avast.com

instead of URL with additional /index.htm ?
So you'll be able to see entire second link (right corner) since this one would be shorter.
I haven't tried other dialogs,just WebShield one.

It would also leave scope to change the default start page of avast.com without having to change the program.
