Question about http://www.filedropper.com
« on: January 21, 2013, 01:23:07 AM »
Hi there, I'm a newby. I have a question for any of you more tech savy persons out there.
Someone sent me this:

http://www.filedropper.com/franksfarzopassport1

I know that filedropper.com is a place to download stuff quickly to be able to share it.

The person who sent it to me found it online and said it was a picture of someone's passport, and this, in the States, I'm pretty sure
is illegal, especially if the photo was secretly taken by someone without the person's knowledge. I'm not sure about the UK.

So, all that to ask if I opened this file, 1) would I be at risk of a virus? and 2) would the person who downloaded this photo be able to see my ip address?

Thank you in advance, :)

Thank you for the response. Trying to find how to edit (I'm REALLY new). Will change as soon as I figure out how to! Very sorry about that.
Thank you for the link to a place that will check for me.
The site is legit it, seems, and I've reported the sender to the site but still did not open it just incase.
Thanks again. both of you.

Use the edit function in your original post, make the changes and then post it.
