Update on 16 Jan 2013 caused absolute HAVOC

Our avast! on our mail-server updated automatically today (16 Jan 2013), and the mail-shield blocked all outgoing e-mails!!!! Kept on sending "XXXXXXXX" while MS Exchange was authenticating - causing the relay server to drop the connection. Spent a good 6 hours trying to figure out why our e-mails weren't going out! Thanks avast!!!!!
