Recently had Avast ( free version ) report various files with Win32:Trojan-gen. of the types {UPX!} {Other} and {VB}.
However, unable to find any virus cleaning references to those mentioned above on AVAST site or any other virus definition database.
Ran Home Scan from Trend @
www.antivirus.com and it found several Java infections.
java.bytever.A-1 / A / B / C / D / 3 and Troj_RG.A. The latter is detailed also on the symantec website database as part of malware. Files found in C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\.jpicache\1.0
The cache can be manually emptied (cleaned) by Start | Settings | Control panel | Java-plug-in | Cache | Clear.
1) Why doesn't Avast check for these java problems ?
2) Is there an AVAST update so scans report virus / malware names that match to those contained in other databases ?
