Why did Avast prevent me from accessing a friends site

that I have been visiting many many times before. Is there a way to add URLs to a bypass list or something? This pretty much made me grumpy now..

If avast! blocked your friend's site, there is usually valid reasoning to it.

If you would please provide a screenshot of the alert you receive.

The fact that you have visited it many, many, times before doesn't mean it isn't now infected/hacked.

Sites getting hacked are one of the major reasons for infection.

Without information on the alert, it is impossible to even investigate.
If you can post a screenshot of the avast alert or the information contained in the alert, malware name, full URL, etc. ?

When posting URLs change the URL from http to hXXp or www to wXw, to break the link and avoid accidental exposure to suspect sites, thanks.
