avast! home edition error
« on: February 22, 2005, 03:36:48 AM »
major problem. avast! antivirus had been working fine for my computer until about 2 weeks ago, when one day, i started up avast, and it gave me these two messages.... and then crashed:

Storage cannot be created for the 'Splash' task

Configuration is not loaded properly. Error : dbsCreateObject

How do i get rid of this madness? I have tried uninstalling avast, rebooting, then reinstalling avast, and i still get the same error.
would i need to clear the registry values that avast uses as well when uninstalling? thanx

Do you already have the latest version installed? (4.6.603)
If not I suggest you do so.

If the problem still remains:
Change ODBC to XML in avast4.ini
