I can't get to any web page!! I am getting "The connection was refused when attempting to connect to www. etc..."

How did you revert back to the previous version?

Better yet, how can I fix this? The only way I can browse is to turn off stop on-access protection.

HELP!!

I'm having problems, too.  I get error messages when I try to check my mail, and I can't use the internet.

Make sure ashwebsv.exe has the apropiate permissions in your firewall.

And peoples,

just saying somthing isn't working is not enough for us to help you.
You really need to give more information. Like:

What exact version of Avast? (number is like x.x.xxx)
What are the exact problems?
When do they happen?
What OS are you using?
etc etc etc.

We can do a lot, but we are not mindreaders.
And please do not post in someone elses thread if your problem is different.

You should both follow Eddy's advice, check the firewall permissions for ashWebSv.exe and provide more information (in your own thread), without it we can't possibly help.

You should create your own thread (not jump on to an existing thread unless it exactly relates to your problem), if it does exactly relate to your problem then you could follow the actions suggested without having to create a new thread.

This way, the thread doesn't become confused, it is also easier for us to help and not duplicate effort.
