Virus update "manually"

Hey guys and girls. The problem i have, is not kind of avast. The problem are, that my parents have bough new computer, with win 7, and avast work fine, BUT, they are so "old fashion" still, that they have wireless 1 MB internet, wich actually load about 10 Kb max, and there fore avast wount update virus database, but giving connection error every time, so is it possibility to download virus database from somewhere directly - you know, as a file - and install from that?  :-\
