I keep getting "AVAST:On access scanner message" all the time.Can you please tell me how to get rid of it as it sometimes takes up most of the screen.

Why not read the help file and make yourself familiar with Avast and learn what the settings mean/do?

In this case it would have told you to disable "show information on performed action".
