Windows 8 Browser and Email Protection Question (Unresolved)
« on: February 09, 2013, 04:55:31 AM »
Hello all,

I am using the Firefox 18.0.2 and Thunderbird 17.0.2 portable versions because I kept losing my profile information when returning from sleep with the installed versions. So, my question is, should I expect the same level of protection from Avast when running these portable versions? As part of my configuration of the applications I have disabled Web Rep and I don't see any option for a "phishing filter" so I don't have a clue as to how Avast is handling the protection for both of these applications. Thanks, in advance, for your replies.
Note: I am running the latest Avast program release and definition updates.

So, let me rephrase my question...

Does Avast provide browser and email protection for portable applications such as Firefox and Thunderbird? Note: I can see the Avast icon spinning whenever I access either portable application so I'm hoping I'm protected. Thanks, in advance, for your responses.
