I have solved my not updating turned out to be firefox not sure how.I reinstalled firefox and redid the setting and Avast updated,twice today. Now in windows 8 I can't get the avast icon to stay in the taskbar.If I turn the pc off the icon disappears, it will not show in the taskbar. I do have the notification on always show. Can anyone help. I've onle had win 8 for less than two weeks, and am also old,so be patient with me.
