« on: February 17, 2013, 01:33:30 PM »
Sorry if this has been already posted...I just got my PC fixed and my brother's friend put this software on my Windows 7. I am having trouble opening anything i download. I downloaded Firefox and it said it was a corrupt file..but i checked it said no issues with it. Also, I cannot save any picture as my desktop background. Can anyone help??

Are you able to access safe mode with networking ?

Reboot the computer, immediately press and hold F8
Does a menu come up ?
If so select safe mode with networking

THEN

Download OTL  to your Desktop
Secondary link
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

  • Select All Users
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in
netsvcs
BASESERVICES
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
/md5start
services.*
explorer.exe
winlogon.exe
Userinit.exe
svchost.exe
winsock.*
/md5stop
CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Post  both logs
