« on: February 19, 2013, 09:35:40 PM »
I am Avast v7 user my subscription will expire end of February, instead of renewing I was planning on buy Norton because my local store has is for free after rebate but AccessAnywhere in avast v8 has me interested currently I use Teamviewer to access my computer remotely, how will AccessAnyWhere work will I need an application similar to Teamviewer to connect to my remote computer or will it be through a URL?

Using Avast at home

You will need avast Premier on both PCs.

I figured I'll have to buy the premier version when available but was hoping only the remote computer would need avast 8 premier, are you sure both computers will need to have avast if so this defeats the purpose of AccessAnyWhere.

I'm not 100-% sure. But AccessAnywhere isn't a standalone tool, it's integrated in avast premier.

Hi guys,
only the remote computer needs premier, the client (from where you connect) can be Free. Currently the client is only available as part of avast, but we plan to enhance the offer with other (free) clients, standalone, from browser, etc. over time.

I don't think we will see this. It's a part of a paid product (avast! Premier) and the developers need to eat :)
