Java has had several security updates in the past few weeks. There were over 60 known vulnerabilities that had to be patched. JRE 7 U 15 alone patched 5 of them while JRE 7 U 13 patched 55. These vulnerabilities were being actively exploited.
Adobe has had is turn in the meat grinder recently, too. Oracle and Adobe products are among the top targets of hackers and will remain so unless their development process is overhauled.
