Generally, it depends on how many languages you have avast!, if you have Pro or Home version...
I think you won't be able to reduce this amount so much. Deleting files, except the *.tmp (if any) will bring you trouble soon or later  8)

Is every older VPS file for updating is deleted when a new one exists ? THis could make us winning more place ?

I was told That in the new version of Avast, skin that are deleted (and initially present) will not be reloaded when downloading VPS file, but I noticed that "this bug" is always here. Why skins are downloaded when VPS file are downloaded?

Thanks

VPS update is incremental... some 'parts' of it will be necessary for a correct updating.
You can get some space managing the logs or even disabling the VRDB (the last one, I do not recommend anyway).
Did you clear your chest files?

Three skins are the 'default' ones (shipped with the package).
Are you using the skinless apearance or, on contrary, using another skin?

The VRDB is about 8 MB.

My chest file is empty.

I am using another skin, but I want to remove for ever default skins that are shipped with Avast.

If I'm not wrong, it should be possible... maybe it was a un-implemented feature on 4.6 version.
If you change to the skinless, will the skin be downloaded with VPS?

My avast folder is 63MB, because I have quite a few skins that I downloaded, but in the scheme of things even 63MB is small, even on my 10GB HDD.

So unless you are really strapped for space, it hardly warrants the hassle and if so there are other more gready targets, such as system restore, unless you keep it in check it will grow to enormous size, 500MB is small I have heard of 1GB System Volume Information folders.

You can keep this in check using the disk cleanup -
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

You can remove default skins through add/remove programs avast *change*, untick skins. This doesnt remove ability to use skins, but should stop default ones comming back.

You can delete other skins in program files/alwil.../avast4/data/skin, some will return unless removed as above.

Biggest piece of cake takes VRDB and files located inside Chest.
First cannot be managed by user, while Chest files can be.
Check how many files do you have inside Chest ;)

You can delete VRDB file and start VRDB generation again...
Well, after some time you'll have a big file anyway as you have a lot of executables into your system and VRDB is protecting them...
