No logging in to your account won't download Pro again, you will have to do that, install it, enter the license and then link it to your avast account.

So as suggested give the malware removal specialists a shot at it.

What is the problem, e.g. what malware name, file name and location ?
What program detects the malware ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Aside from the other information requested - This needs further analysis by a malware removal specialist:
Go to this topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 for information on Logs to assist in cleaning malware. Use the information about getting and using the tools and attach the logs here, not in the LOGS topic.

start a new topic in the virus and worms forum section...
and in that topic you attach...not copy and paste the following logs

AdwCleaner
Malwarebytes
OTL
aswMBR

you find the how to guide here.   http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

and the removal is absolutely free.  ;)

The malware is searchnu/Bandoo Media

Thanks for the suggestion to try the experts. It's a bit technical for a senior like me but i'll get my son & daughter-in-law on the case. They are much more savvy than i am.

seems to be a simple browser hijacker....AdwCleaner will probably remove that

but still attach all the logs, so that the removal expert can check for any leftovers
