Not Related To Avast But Strange
« on: February 26, 2013, 08:12:24 PM »
I restarted my computer a little while ago and like I do everyday I went to the Forum but it opened Internet Explorer.  I had Firefox 19 set for my default browser but somehow or the other it was no longer on my computer.  Had to download and install it again.  I ran Malwarebytes  and no Malware was found so how could FF have been uninstalled?

No need to have reinstalled it again, all you needed to do would have been to reset firefox as the default browser.
Tools, Advanced tab, System Defaults, check firefox is default browser, etc.

How did you go to the forums ?
Surely if you open the forums from your browser bookmarks there should be no way it opens elsewhere.

I done that but Firefox wasn't on the list.  It wasn't even my program files.

I get to the forum by clicking on Avast orange ball.

What do you mean firefox wasn't on the list, this is in the firefox Options.

I clicked on Default Programs and Firefox was not on the list, then when to control panel, and it wasn't on there either.  My FF icon was gone also.

How could I have possibly went to the Firefox Options when Firefox wasn't installed?  I have no idea about how it got uninstalled.

If you have automatic updates enabled in Windows, check in Programs* if MS installed anything today.

*May be different in Win7*

There are several topics on the general board saying that MS has released some out of band updates today, one being for IE10 for Win7. Out of curiosity, which version of IE do you have?
