Screen Saver Lockup
« on: March 17, 2005, 03:37:14 PM »
I just put in a new install of avast. To begin with, I had just reformatted my hard drive and have reinstalled all drivers and the os (winxp home). My problem is that after the screen saver has been running for a few minutes, my computer locks up when I try to return to desktop. Prior to adding avast, everthing worked fine, but now.......

Is there something I need to change in the way avast operates while the screen saver is running to avoid this problem?

I like avast and it ran great before I had to reformat.

Thx

Tarstarken, did you chose 'avast screensaver' into the Video properties in your computer? If so, which is your 'real screensaver' (i.e., the one running while avast is scanning)?
Are you running an on-demand scanning while the problem apper?

I have no ideal if I am running on-demand scanning. However the problem seems to have resolved it's self. I did a reboot and it seems to be working now. But I will continue to moniter to see if the problem surfaces again.
