windows 8 metro apps not working (update on 27/2/2013

hello all!!
I updated my avast antivirus today(27 feb, 2012). After successfully installing it and re-boting my laptop. The metro apps are not working.  They open up and close the very next moment. When I disabled avast shields, they work fine.

Please look at this issue.

All metro apps work fine here.

1) Hide your email unless you love getting deluged with spam.
2) What version of avast are you using? v7.0, v8.0 Free, Pro, AIS?
3) What other security software do you have now or ever had? And how was it uninstalled?

The description of you issue is too obscure to be of any help with your problem.

I am using avast 7 free.

This problem has been since 27/2/2013
There was a notification about avast installing an update. I installed it and restarted my PC. Since then my metro apps are not working properly. They are showing live information. but most of them are not opening up. When I click them, they open up and then close.
When I open them with avast shields off, they work fine.
