Poll: How do you like the new avast website?

I just accessed the avast website with my Firefox Portable 19.0 and the Home & Business categories worked fine.

So, it does seem like Opera 11.64 seems to be the culprit.

Can anyone else who already has Opera 12.xx confirm that hovering on the Home & Business categories at the top of the page on the avast website works fine?

No problem with the site here using Opera 12.14

Alright, much better.  I can now confirm that Opera 12.14 has eliminated the glitch of which I spoke earlier on the Home & Business categories.

As to the website itself?  While I haven't given it a power scrutinizing session, I think so far I would have to say it is easier to find stuff on this new version than it was on the old version.  Good layout and navigation flow from that standpoint.

As to the contrast issue that others have mentioned?
Given that avast's marquee signature color is Orange, it could probably use a little bit more Orange accents / trim somewhere.

There is one issue I did find, however. Under "our other popular solutions", Google Chrome is listed. This is misleading, as it implies that Google Chrome is an Avast! product. This can also lead to legal issues.

It needs more contrast.

I would have though that someone would have been monitoring the avast 8 GUI topic and feedback site as this is just repeating the contrast issues of the avast 7 free UI. Yes there are some light relief (excuse the pun) with the graphics, but there are acres of white, too bright.

Are you having server problems because it takes forever to get a connection to the home page and even longer if I bookmark an individual post. Anybody else notice the new slowness?

Just a followup on the slowness issue. It seems like your SMF database has a bandwidth botttleneck issue. Please check your SMF and dataabse logs for errors because something is not right here. I have built and maintained many forums using SMF and I can see the signs that something is drastically wrong with your installation.

I'm not sure what sound pack you are talking about, but the additional Languages includes the Pirate talk option. AvastUI, Settings, language, Install additional languages.
