1. Will you please give me the url to your banking site? I would like to visit it.

2. Are the only security programs that you have on your computer the same as shown in your signature?

3. Have you thoroughly removed all previous security programs?

4. Are you using any custom windows themes?

5. It might be worth giving this a try to see if it will reveal any problems. -> http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
Please follow the directions and attach the logs to your next post.

I added #5 above after you quoted me. I think this would be very helpful. It sounds like there may be a conflict somewhere (or maybe malware). Won't know the answer to this until the logs are attached and reviewed. I have notified essexboy.
Thanks. I will do as you instructed, however, I won't be able to do it until tomorrow Wednesday because I'm in the middle of moving my computer and other stuff into another room. What a PITA.

Here's my MBAM log. I have no malware. Those other apps on the url you sent me make me nervous to run, because I'm not a techie and I'm afraid to mess with them because if something goes wrong, I won't have the knowledge to get myself out of a possible problem.

Well, the OTL log file will show the most useful information. The initial instruction is only a scan which creates a log of different areas of your computer. Nothing is changed unless instructed to do so by a malware removal specialist. They really know what they are doing. Hopefully it will show items that may be causing a problem on your system. In your case, I think this would be the most beneficial scan to run. It's your call though. If you decide to run OTL, please attach it rather than pasting it. Please see the image I have attached.

Your windows resizing is definitely not normal behavior.

Have you ever run system file checker? Please read the following for details.

Hi, Before I explore your last suggestions, I think I may have a clue concerning the window resizing thing. When I bought this computer, I decided to go with an HDMI cable from the computer to the monitor, rather than the included VGA cable, the reasoning being I thought I would get a better picture. Then while setting up I tried to use the recommended 1920x1080 default resolution but could not fill the screen no matter what I did. So experimenting I found that 1280x720 did the trick. I left it like that for a year or so, but realized that circles on the screen were showing slightly out of round because of the resolution. Long story short, I was on the Windows 7 forum and with the help of a member realized that by using the HDMI cable, that caused me not to be able to use the default resolution of 1920x1080, and it was suggested that I use the VGA cable. That solved the problem. However, I now had the size problem I described to you above on most windows especially browser windows at least once, until I physically resized them at least once. After a short period of that and zooming in text on sites, the problem went away, and I have had the proper resolution in proper perspective for maybe a year. Now the resizing  problem has appeared only when I come out of SafeZone requiring a reboot to correct.  What do you think? Could it be something that your OTL or system file checker could show?

Hi, Charyb, I did the SFC scan and there were no problems found.  Thanks for referring that. I saved the url.  ;) I'll try the OTL next.

I have just tried my bank in safe zone..  I experienced no problems with either of the sign in pages, it went as smoothly as outside safe zone

I tried the OTL scan. It ran a few minutes until it said scanning Firefox settings. It seemed to be running for a minute or so, and then in the title bar, it said (not Responding) and sat there, so I closed it. I can only assume it could be because I uninstalled Firefox and am running Waterfox 64x, and the scan is stuck at a firefox file.

I would let it run more than a minute or two before canceling it.

Please run it again uninterrupted.

Charyb,  I'm back, and attempted the scan again. It stopped responding when it started scanning Firefox again, and I let it soak for 20 minutes with no change. I'm going to give up on it.
Above, I explained about my problem with getting the correct resolution on my monitor, and how exiting Safezone created pretty much the same problem. Well, over the past week or so I've noticed the screen quivering after boot up, but discounted it. This morning when I booted up, The light in the monitor got very dim and refused to light up again, like when a flourescant light starts to burn out. I finally had to go out and buy a new monitor. I notice how much better things look compared to the old monitor that gave me the trouble, and wonder if there might be a correlation between that and the Safezone problem. Tomorrow after I boot up, I think I will give Safezone another try and see what if anything happens.
I want to really thank you for all your help. If I get results tomorrow, I'll post it here for you.   :)

Let us know if the monitor does make a difference, if so then we will not need to run OTL

Well the monitor had nothing to do with it. I clicked on to SafeZone and got the browser page. Then I forgot my bank's exact url so went back to the regular desktop and it appeared in the small window that can't be expanded. I then rebooted to fix it. That's without doing anything other than click on SafeZone and revert back to  the original desktop. So that eliminates everything after I click on the SafeZone icon, or something when I click back.

I deleted every trace of Firefox listed in my computer, and tried another OTL scan. It still stalls at Firefox. Maybe there's a file in my Waterfox 64x browser. I'm not uninstalling that.

That almost sounds like an error that existed in Chrome some time back. Wonder which version of Chrome the safebrowser is based on ???

That is not typical malware behaviour ..  So I would imagine it to be an error within safezone or another programme conflicting
