Hello,

How can I challenge a bad reputation note ?

We run a high traffic site under the domain magicrecycle.com, and all ours sites under this domain are marked as "bad reputation".

We don't understand where this note comes from, and we would like to request an examination of this note which we don't agree with.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if more information is needed, we look forward to resolving this issue with your help.
Best Regards,
Juan.

It isn't avast that is the issue, it's the people who visit you website that gives your site the bad rep.
It's based on how people vote as to whether or not a website is worth visiting.

I understand it, and I thank you very much for your reply, but it should be an option to examine our site and to remove very old notations.

We have been bought by another company in 2013 and we have kept the same domain, because it was well positioned on google.

I can understand that the site had received bad notes before 2013, but this is no longer the case and the "bad reputation" issue continues to hurt our client's confidence.

Besides, new subdomains that have been created recently still show a bad reputation mark in google search results, but I can't believe this comes from people's decisions. For example pro.magicrecycle.com is a restricted access site, and I don't think anybody has noted it.

It is a nice tool but I believe there is not enough transparency from Avast! to help new businesses to start up cleanly.

Unfortunately you need to convince the people who have written the reviews
to change their minds. Avast just as WOT simply report what those reviews reflect.

Thank you, but how do I contact those people ? I have nothing, no data to start with, WOT should not be anonymous... I am desperate, I call anyone who sees this post to give us a positive review, that is the only thing we can do, begging for pardon for the years we are not responsible for. sad.

You can't. These are private people who desire and deserve as much anonymity as possible.
If more people visit your website and give more positive ratings so much the better. Personally,
I don't put much, if any, stock in these rating add-on/extensions. They are easily skewed. I don't
use nor do I rely on Web Of Trust either.

WOT is a tool to slag off the competition, nothing to do with security as they claim. There is unfortunately nothing you can do about.

I've used services like yours b4. After a successful transaction there usually comes an email request to rate the experience blah blah whatever. If you do the same perhaps you should cut down on this.
