Avast 8 and AMD

My wife's computer runs an AMD processor with Windows 8, I thought I read somewhere that could cause a problem with the new Avast 8 and AMD. Is this true or am I confused about that and btw I installed it on my Windows 8 i5 3210 and it is great!
