Possible ActiveMonetizer bug, please look at logs
« on: March 06, 2013, 04:34:17 AM »
I saw this weird activemonetizer blue spike in my network shield, then MBAM found some stuff (see the logs).

I've run OTL and attached that log too.

Can someone confirm to me if I am clean now.

I did an avast! boot scan the day before yesterday and that was clean

Looks like a PUP.. Run AdwCleaner to remove what MBAM missed

CLEAR THE BAD TOOLBARS

Download AdwCleaner from here to your desktop
Run AdwCleaner and select Delete

Once done it will ask to reboot, allow this
On reboot a log will be produced please attach that

I downloaded it from CNET. The computer seems fine now. I am running Microsoft Safety Scanner right now just to double check.
I had also downloaded a bulk  file  renamer from CNET too a coupleweeks back, which left a PUP (which  is why I needed Revo)

It is weird that Avast missed this.

Microsoft Safety Scanner says I am clean

I presume everything is fine now as nothing odd is happening.

Aye it was just toolbar garbage within the cnet downloader

I will play with it on my VM to see what gets installed
