What you are experiencing is the program recognising that the definitions are older than 14 days so it suggests you check for updated definitions and there are none.

Assuming that another 14 days goes by you would probably get the same option when you open the program. I'm not sure if there isn't a setting to change the default 14 day check.

It has been a long time, hope they haven't given up in light of MS option.

This is what you need to change to stop getting the warnings.

No it can't be.Ad-aware is very good product.I only don't use ad-watch,but i have the pro version.
off-topic
The reason is because in version 6 ad-watch was turned on
1.No any spyware detection-i removed the spyware it on demand
2.almost every program was in conflict with it:icq, avast(couldn't install it with ad-watch turned on)
I haven't tried the new ad-watch in SE but one of my friend told me he screwed up his PC with ad-watch
so I'm scared  to try it.

I too have noticed this, people on the Lavasoft forums where asking about this, but so far, no response from lavasoft.

Only thing i can think of is they are concentrating on the new research portal:

Quote
Further improvements (under construction) will include a new research portal for better communications that will have a new public discussion forum where researchers, users, and vendors can meet to discuss privacy and security issues as well as to bring our communities closer together so that public debate can occur between the privacy community and the vendors (who will be welcomed to join and actively participate in open discussions). This will allow everyone greater access and to separate our technical forums for improved customer support.

I remember when Ad-Aware did not release definition files for a while when they where designing Ad-Aware SE, maybe the same sort of thing this time.

Ad-aware has had problems before with irregularity in their updates.
That was one of the complaints under the old version 6.3.1
We all assumed things got better when SE came out.
Right now there are more updates to MS AntiSpyware than to Ad-aware. :'(

This is why I'm asking that avast! scan/protect/clean spywares:
