Definition Updates
« on: March 10, 2013, 03:50:45 PM »
If my memory serves me well we used to get 2/3 or sometimes 4 updates per day with V.7
Now it seems to be only one.
I sure there must be a reason.
Perhaps somebody could advise.
Thanks.

With streaming updates the regular vps updates are not as crucial.
Some days there could be one, two and on a rare occasion three vps updates.
Basically avast will release the auto vps updates on a as-needed basis.
As you can see from the screenshot I've received nineteen streaming updates already today.  :)

When you open C-> Program files->Avast software-> Avast->defs you will find a folder named YYMMDDXX_stream, something like 13030901_stream. When you open it you will find .bin files. The number of the BIN files is the number of the streaming updates you received that day. See the screenshot.
