Gemini virus and Avast
« on: March 10, 2013, 12:49:11 AM »
Hello,

After picking up the Gemini virus from a rogue app,  thought avast would protect me. This was not the case. I ended up having to be resourceful and get rid of it myself. I come here today not to bash on avast, but to offer help in detecting the Gemini virus. This is something I believe only avast or other root-based antivirus softwares can accomplish. Unless of course, I'm mistaken.

II believe only root can force close connections of other apps, read android system los and app logs, remove app permissions, and then force uninstall. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd love to share my insight on the virus with the avast team. The only reason I don't put it here is due to the fact that the Gemini team may be watching.

I hope I can help.

Cheers.
