no manage to threat a virus
« on: March 03, 2005, 07:13:11 PM »
hi!
my Avast antivirus 4.6 manages to find viruses but can't quarantine, heal, or remove some of them.
I don't know how to do.
I have 13 viruses like this.
thanks to bring me solutions.

Files that are in use can't easilly be removed with ending the process.

- What OS are you using? is it up to date?
- What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number, e.g. 0436-4 (see about avast!)
- What was the virus name, what was the filename, where was it found
  example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)?

If you have XP then you could try scheduling a boot-time scan from within avast.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Operational system. You've already answered: Windows Me

they are located in C:\_RESTORE\TEMP\

Disable (and enable it after) System Restore

1. Right click on the “My Computer” icon on the Windows desktop.
2. Click “Properties”.
3. Click on “Performance”.
4. Click “File system”.
5. Click “Troubleshooting”.
6. Check “Disable system restore”.
7. Click on OK.
8. Close and RESTART your system.

After that, do another scan and if your system is clean then
Re-enable system restore
The best things in life are free.
