The on-demand scan can't scan password protected files but the real time protection(file shield) can. You are protected.

Not entirely correct; until the contents are unpacked from a password protected archive (by the program/process that password protected it), then and only then can avast scan the files that were contained in that archive.

I got the same one, but it's for Adobe Reader? Is it safe to delete these too?

Adobe password protects its files when doing the updates.

Short answer, no you shouldn't delete.

Longer answer:
Files that can't be scanned are just that, not an indication they are suspicious/infected, just unable to be scanned.

Many programs (usually security based ones) password protect their files for legitimate reasons, there are others, adobe update in this instance (and avast doesn't know the password or have any way of using it even if it did know it).

By examining 1) the reason given by avast! for not being able to scan the files, 2) the location of the files, you can get an idea of what program they relate to. You may need to expand the column headings to see all the text.

When you reboot, these adobe update files, because they are for an update and are in a temp location are likely to be gone anyway.

What was the point in blacking out your user name on the pic when you can still see it on that text that comes up when you mouseover it?

Ok thanks everyone!
I had another little question that I think didn't deserve a whole new topic....
So I just downloaded avast free 8 and the software updater tells me Adobe Air is outdated, the thing is, I would like to update it through adobe air, like updated java or flash player, not avast. But where do I find it on my computer to update it?

Adobe products have an autoupdate function. See here: http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/air-2-0-auto-update.html Why don't update via avast. When you click update avast will open the adobe AIR update program.
 :) ;) :)

Okay, I tried updating it through avast...

For Adobe AIR, I clicked 'fix now', it popped up An 'update to Adobe AIR is ready to install', (And I also was checking task manager at the same time, it had running:
Adobe AIR Installer.exe
in C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\temp\AIR3C06.tmp, and

AdobeAIRInstaller.exe (Notice the other had spaces)
in C:\Windows\temp\avast_ash\Adobe AIR

In case thats of any use, but thats probably normal for it to do that since it is in an avast folder and avast started it, not sure though)

And after it was done installing the update, another Adobe AIR 'An update is ready to be installed' message popped up!! Avast says its up to date, do I update it again or leave it? Did I update it right?? Until I get a reply, I'm just going to leave it....

EDIT: Okay, I just closed it out, I'll let you know if it keeps comping back...
