did you just update java?

when installing java there is a ask toolbar install....if that is the one you mean....you can select no

With installs nowadays there is a lot of bundled stuff that could come your way, like the ask toolbar etc.
Install and not untack that and you are a prize winner. What is the prize? Crap.
Developers have to make a living and users should watch what they download
and also what they do want to exclude from their downloads.
Watch your clicks more true than ever now...

In this case I was installing the latest version of a useful program, Format Factory, and with no, either notice or request for approval, Ask.com was installed.

Now do you understand why we need a bot ??

NO approval, NO request !!
