Outlook/Exchange provider not starting

when i open outlook 2003 i use to get a splash screen for outlook/exchange provider. Now there is no splash screen and the provider does not start it says waiting for subsystem to start.

What exact version of Avast?
What OS?
Is the plugin still enabled in Outlook?

Make sure the avast plugin is not disabled into MS Outlook: Help > About > Disabled items

The message "The provider is waiting on the subsystem to start" will be shown there until you open MS Outlook.
The plugin will be enabled automatically after that.
