Windows 8 avast and action center
« on: March 12, 2013, 08:40:20 PM »
I have looked for a solution everywhere, maybe somebody here can help. When I start win 8 the AV icon show real quick in the task bar, about 30 seconds. But in the Action Center it takes 8to 10 minutes to show that the firewall and antivirus is working.Am I protected in the meantime, and is there anyway to correct this.

I wouldn't be too worried about the action center if avast is actually running and not showing a Red X over the icon and is running in the task manager, avastUI.exe and avastSvc.exe.

If there aren't any problems, the Action Center always takes it sweet time to open.
A simple search for "Action" will show you Action Center under apps. Open it manually if it bothers you.

Thanks David and Bob.This new windows 8 and my old brain are having a bit of a conflict getting use to each other. Some things are really fast and some are so slow, and hard to learn.I figure by the time windows 9 comes out I will have 8 down pat.
Thanks again.
