rundll32.exe and explorer.exe error.
« on: March 14, 2013, 09:48:14 PM »
Hai,
When I scan with memory as scan option, it shows that rundll32.exe and explorer.exe are threat process. But I can't repair them. There is no option in the action box.  It says that
Process 1716[explorer.exe], memory block 0x000000001000000, block size 1044480(explorer.exe)          Severity-High          Threat:Win32:Malware-gen

Process 208[rundll32.exe], memory block 0x000000001000000, blocksize 45056(rundll32.exe)              Severity-Medium      Threat:Win32:RunDllMod [Susp]

Thanks for any help.

A browse or search of the forums will show many such instances of weird results when you scan memory. The general advice is don't scan memory in a custom scan it is a very in depth scan of memory.

I take it it was a Custom scan you ran.

Memory Scan exclusions - You can set the exclusion (e.g. for the particular scan you created) as follows (comodo example):
*PROCESS\*\cmdagent.exe
- then the Comodo process won't be scanned at all.
