Loading Avast Services
« on: March 15, 2013, 10:56:13 PM »
I started having troubles the last couple of days with the windows 7 64 bit sidebar not always loading. Did a lot of searching on google and tried all kind of things. None worked, then I tried going to Avast setting and checking under troubleshooting <Load Avast! services only after loading other system services>. This seems to have fixed the problem. I have two other windows 7 computers one 32 and one 64 bit that are not having problems. My question is, Can the avast setting be left this way forever or would this cause some security risk or other problem. It does not bother me if it is not a problem. I have done all the latest MS updates like IE 10 and figure something is just conflicting. slybo

Not sure how important but I use Pro on all my computers, of course the latest 8.

The actual delay would be most likely be counted in fractions of a second rather than many seconds, as it is only loading after other 'system services,' not after all other services. Don't be fooled by the fact that the tray icon doesn't load right away that avast doesn't mean avast isn't running until it loads. It is still running very early in the boot.

Yes I noticed the icon in the tray was there as soon as the desktop loaded. So it sounds like no big deal to leave this way for now. I will try to reverse it back with the next program update or just some time in the future. Thanks for the reply DavidR, slybo
